Some fixed point theorems for a class of quasi-contractions in b-metric spaces

Abstract

An incipient class of mappings namely generalized semi-quasi contraction has been considered on b-metric spaces. Some fixed point theorems for this class of mappings are obtained. Our results complement, elongate and generalize some prominent fixed point theorems including ?iri? [A generalization of Banach’s contraction principle, Proc. Amer. Math. Soc. 45(1974), 267-273.] and Kumam et al. [A generalization of Ciric fixed point theorems, Filomat 29(2015), no. 7, 1549-1556.] on b-metric spaces. Some subsidiary examples are presented to illustrate the results. We additionally give an application to dynamic programming.
