Abstract

Conflict between people and animals has become a major problem in areas near habitats for them. It regularly causes damage to property, crops, and even puts human life under threat. To solve this urgent problem, this project presents a clever and reasonably priced Wild Animal Detection and Alert System using hardware and software elements for efficient monitoring and deterrent of wild animals. The main operation of the system is real-time animal detection using Python together with a live video feed. Python-based algorithms trained to distinguish between domestic and wild animals are applied to process images when an animal is seen in the continuous video input from the camera.

Should a wild animal be detected, the Python application immediately connects to the hardware via the Node MCU using Wi-Fi, so enabling real-time data transfer. Showing an alert message or status on the LCD display, the system reacts by turning on a light to visually warn and maybe scare off the animal and a speaker module generates loud, animal-scaring sounds. These combined actions act as a deterrent by reducing the possibility of animal invasion and enhancing human safety as well as crops. Autonomous monitoring and response allows the whole process to happen free from human intervention.

Because of its clever integration of IoT, real-time video processing, and hardware automation, the system is ideal for installation in farmhouses, agricultural fields, and surroundings of forests. Its great scalability allows future developments including picture storage, mobile alerts, and drone or sophisticated sensor integration. Combining the features of Python, machine learning, and Internet of Things technologies, the project offers a workable solution supporting wildlife coexistence, safety, and sustainability by means of their combined capabilities.
