Ethics and Policies

"Communications on Applied Nonlinear Analysis" (CANA) is dedicated to upholding the highest ethical standards in research, publication, and editorial practices. We expect all authors, reviewers, and editors to adhere to the following ethical guidelines and policies:

1. Publication Ethics

1.1. Authorship:

  • All listed authors must have made substantial contributions to the research and manuscript and should agree to the final content and submission.
  • Honorary or ghost authorship is strongly discouraged. Anyone who has contributed substantially to the work should be acknowledged as an author.

1.2. Plagiarism:

  • Authors should ensure that their work is original and properly cited. Plagiarism in any form, including self-plagiarism (reusing one's own work without proper citation), is unacceptable.

1.3. Data and Image Integrity:

  • Authors should present accurate and valid data. Manipulation, fabrication, or falsification of data and images is considered a serious ethical breach.

1.4. Conflicts of Interest:

  • Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest, including financial and non-financial relationships, that could influence the research or its interpretation.

2. Review and Editorial Process

2.1. Peer Review:

  • CANA follows a double-blind peer review process, where both authors and reviewers remain anonymous.
  • Reviewers are expected to provide constructive, unbiased, and timely feedback.

2.2. Editorial Independence:

  • Editors are responsible for making publication decisions based on the quality, originality, and relevance of submitted manuscripts, without bias.

3. Data Access and Sharing

3.1. Data Availability:

  • Authors should make data and research materials used in the manuscript available to other researchers, where feasible, to promote transparency and reproducibility.

3.2. Reproducibility:

  • Authors are encouraged to provide detailed methodologies and instructions to allow others to replicate their experiments and analyses.

4. Ethical Considerations in Research

4.1. Human and Animal Research:

  • Authors conducting research involving human subjects or animals should adhere to ethical guidelines and obtain necessary approvals and informed consent.

4.2. Research Misconduct:

  • CANA takes allegations of research misconduct seriously and will investigate any such claims in accordance with established guidelines.

5. Corrections and Retractions

5.1. Corrections:

  • CANA will consider publishing corrections or errata when errors are identified in published articles.

5.2. Retractions:

  • In cases of serious ethical breaches or significant errors, CANA may retract published articles following a formal investigation.

6. Copyright and Licensing

6.1. Copyright:

  • Authors retain copyright of their work but are required to grant CANA a license to publish and distribute the accepted manuscript.

6.2. Open Access:

  • CANA is an open-access journal, and articles are freely accessible to all readers.
