Abstract

In today’s world, providing data security is a key requirement for providing secure communication over internet, and for digital storage. Because everyone wants that his or her data must be secure whether it is individual or professional. The cryptography provides a way for data security against malicious and illegal access by using symmetric or asymmetric encryption algorithms. As per cryptographic protocol, more and more complexity in cryptographic techniques, enhances the level of security. So, in this paper, we proposed a new complex symmetric cipher to provide and enhance the level of security against illegal access to others information. The proposed symmetric cipher, uses the concept of One-Time Pad technique in combination with substitution method, complement methods, and binary arithmetic operations, to perform encryption and decryption. The complexity in encryption and decryption process, and use of FLAG array (to select number of characters) and random key, helps our cipher to provide better data security against letter frequency analysis attack.
