Main Article Content
Abstract
This study examines the operational and financial performance of four leading Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) in Andhra Pradesh—Andhra Pragathi Grameena Bank (APGB), Chaitanya Godavari Grameena Bank (CGGB), Andhra Pradesh Grameena Vikas Bank (APGVB), and Saptagiri Grameena Bank (SGB)—for the five-year period from 2019–20 to 2023–24. The analysis focuses on key parameters: deposits, advances, profitability, capital adequacy, and productivity. Using secondary data from annual reports and applying the Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) and Mann–Kendall Trend Test, the study identifies significant upward trends in operational and profitability indicators. Results show that smaller banks such as CGGB and SGB achieved higher growth rates, while larger institutions like APGVB and APGB demonstrated strength in scale and stability. The findings highlight how RRBs are driving financial inclusion, improving efficiency, and enhancing profitability in rural economies.
