Main Article Content
Abstract
Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has transformed the functioning of academic and college libraries by enhancing access to information, improving library services, and supporting modern learning environments. The integration of ICT tools such as digital catalogues, online databases, e-journals, institutional repositories, and automated library management systems has significantly increased the efficiency of library operations. ICT enables faster information retrieval, remote access to resources, and better communication between librarians and users. In addition, it plays a crucial role in developing digital literacy among students and faculty, ensuring that libraries remain central to teaching, research, and knowledge dissemination. This paper highlights the importance of ICT in strengthening academic and college libraries, discusses its applications in library services, and emphasizes the need for technological advancement to meet the evolving demands of higher education.
