Two common fixed point theorems in 2-metric spaces and their applications to functional equations

Abstract

Two common fixed point theorems for weakly compatible mappings satisfying contractive conditions of integral type in the background of 2-metric spaces are proved. The results obtained extend properly or differ from some known results in the literature. An example and two applications are also included.
